The Media Makeup course is designed to train the student to efficiently use makeup in creative environments such as theatre and film. 

The course offers extensive skills in the expanding industry of makeup artistry.

This curriculum covers an expanse of makeup techniques including theatre, media and special effects.

Qualification Levels: CIBTAC Level 3 Certificate in Media Makeup. (MQF Level 4) QAN No. 603/2350/4

Students attending this qualification will cover:

• health, safety, and security practices within the salon/working environment 
• emergency procedures
• how to communicate effectively with Clients
• providing Client care
• how to prepare for and provide media make-up; and create design plans  
• an understanding of health and safety within the salon
• an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system

This course includes:

• Special effects
• Ageing
• Character
• Period make-up
• Cuts, bruises, scarring
• Bald cap and false hair application

The course consists of the 3 modules:

• T101 Monitor and maintain health and safety in the salon
• T102 Client care and communication in beauty-related industries 
• P124 Media make-up

Career Opportunities:

This Certificate is a natural progression from Level 2 and Level 3 beauty therapy qualifications. It also provides progression to the Level 3 Diploma in Photographic and Media Make-up, Level 3 Diploma in Creative Make-up and the Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management offered by CIBTAC and other awarding organisations regulated by Ofqual.
